princess mononoke themed birthday cake – dort pro kamarádku

It is my friend’s birthday this weekend, and she is a HUGE fan of anime, especially Studio Ghibli movies. The little white creatures on the cake are kodama, forest spirits who live in trees, which appear in Princess Mononoke (a Studio Ghibli movie). I made the kodama using normal fondant icing. I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out!

Nedávno měla jdna moje kamarádka narozeniny, a upekla jsem tenhle dort. Upekla jsem čokoládovou buchtu, slepila s čokoládovou náplní, a ozdobila kokosem a fondánovou hmotou. Ty malé strašidla jsou “kodama” z japonského filmu Princezna Mononoke.

Tomorrow is valentine’s day (as I’m sure at least 50% of you know) but it is also my friend’s birthday (which I would find weird if any of you knew), so I made her cupcakes! They’re a little wonky (my piping bag split halfway through icing them) but hopefully they’ll taste good.
